Lake Redstone Protection District: Apm Plan & Ais Education: The Lake Redstone Protection District will develop an aquatic plant management (APM) plan for Lake Redstone using DNR approved methods. Survey results from 2012 found 8 native species which need to be protected, and several invasive species, one of which has reached nuisance levels, and needs to be managed. Information about strategies to accomplish plant management goals will be shared via public meetings, and the plan will incorporate informed public input that results. In addition, a multi-faceted AIS education project will be carried out, with volunteers conducting at least 200 hours of Clean Boats Clean Waters inspections at boat landings. Resulting data will be entered into the DNR database. Volunteers will monitor the lake for exotic species, map curlyleaf pondweed beds in early spring, and the District will sponsor a public education event to share information about topics such as AIS, lakeshore restoration, and water quality. Results of the APM plan and AIS Education project will be presented to the community at a public meeting and to DNR via a final report.

Lake Redstone Protection District: Lake Redstone 2 Yr Aquatic Plant Managment Implementation: The Lake Redstone P&R District is sponsoring a project to carry out management activities that support goals of the lake\2019s 2015 Aquatic Plant Management plan, which is focused on control of Eurasian watermilfoil, and promotion of healthy, native aquatic plants.

Project final deliverables include: EWM management and monitoring documents as described in the grant application, raw data and maps of CLP and other invasive species of interest, Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) education data entered into swims database, documentation about manual plant removal training, a 2017 lake fair and a shoreland improvement workshop, and a shoreland improvement brochure of local examples.

Specific project activities include: Management of EWM and corresponding monitoring of plant community in treatment areas, coordination of a District CBCW education program, District will put on a AIS Identification and Physical Removal Workshop in June of each year, search for and document CLP and other invasive species, put on a lake fair in 2017, organize a shoreline improvement workshop and create a brochure featuring local examples of best management practices.

Friends Of Devil'S Lake State Park: Res-Of Devil'S Lake By Bottom Water Withdrawl: Friends of Devil's Lake State Park, Inc. will construct and begin operating a siphon pipe system for the purpose of withdrawing P-rich bottom water from Devil's Lake over approximately a 15-year period.

Friends Of Devil'S Lake State Park: Lmi-Devil'S Lake Bottom Withdrawal Pipe Alterations: The Friends of Devil's Lake State Park propose this project to reconstruct the siphon pipe system at Devil's Lake State Park, Sauk County, by lowering the portion of the siphon that is above the ordinary high water mark (OHWM) lake level so that the pipe will flow as a gravity feed flow system whenever the lake level is above the OHWM. This entails digging up about 900' of the pipe, and lowering the highest point. An additional butterfly flow valve will be installed to provide control of the pipe for safety and operational purposes. Deliverables of this project will be a brief final report documenting that the project was completed, including photos of the project during construction.

Special condition: The Sponsor agrees to abide by the "Conditions of Approval" contained in the Chapter 30 Regulated Activities manual code approval issued by the Department of Natural Resources on 6/6/06.

Vernon County: Lmi-Hillsboro Lake Improvement: The Vernon County Land Conservation Department proposes to reduce sedimentation to Hillsboro Lake by 1404 tons over a five year period through implementation of Best Management Practices approved, but unlikely to be funded at any time soon, by the state's Nonpoint Source Program. High Residue Management, Conservation Cropping Plans, Grassed Waterway, Critical Area Stabalization, Grade Stabalization Structures, Streambank Riprapping, Streambank Fencing, Stream Crossings and Streambank Shaping and Seeding.

Lake Redstone Protection District: Hlk-Healthy Lakes Project On Lake Redstone: LRPD will implement best practices described in Wisconsin\2019s Healthy Lakes Implementation Plan that include: implementation of fish sticks, 350 square feet native plantings, diversion practices, infiltration practices, or rain gardens on 2 properties. Best practices require a contract to remain in effect for 10 yrs & must include minimum operation & maintenance requirements & data collection as described in grant condition #16. If best practice(s) are implemented on land owned by grant Sponsor, this Grant Agreement serves as the contract. If best practice(s) are implemented on land other than the sponsor\2019s, a contract between the sponsor & landowner that abides by grant condition #16 is required. The DNR may require repayment of project installation costs if the best practice is disturbed or removed. Monitoring will include water quality, fisheries, plants, potential sensitive areas, watershed land uses, predicted phosphorus loading rates (calculated), and wildlife observations. The final report summarizing management recommendations will be published in local papers, and distributed to project partners, including the county LWCD, county parks department, Town of LaValle, DNR, USFWS, WWA and NRCS.

The grantee will disseminate information to the public by newsletter mailings, fact sheet distributions, public neetings, summary report mailings, and a comprehensive management plan. Lake Redstone P & R District: Lake Redstone Bottom Withdrawal: This project will provide further information to evaluate the potential for bottom withdrawal for reducing internal phosphorus loading. The final report will summarize lake monitoring results and stream monitoring results. It will assess whether bottom withdrawal will reduce in-lake phosphorus loading and benefit lake quality. A WDNR environmental engineer will use stream waste assimilation models to determine acceptable downstream organic loading rates. Both test withdrawal and projected discharge rates will provide further information towards the goal of determining whether the maximum acceptable discharge rates will significantly benefit the lake water quality based on lake response modeling.

Lake Redstone Protection District: Lake Redstone Nutrient Loading Study - Part 2: Lab analysis of water samples collected in phase 1, modeling of results, and final report including recommendations for future protection and enhancement activities.

4/20/07: Scope Change request approved:This grant is for the SLOH lab expenses and software modeling for Lake Redstone in Sauk County. Flow and phosphorus data was collected in 2006. Unfortunately there were equipment malfunctions causing 25% of the data to be lost. The contract has been renegotiated with the contractor to repeat the data collection in 2007 with little or no increase in cost. However, SLOH costs will be repeated as the new samples will be analyzed. SLOH spreadsheets added to the postage show this estimated cost to be $4,438.

A change in scope is being requested to remove $4,438 from the estimated $10,000 for the software modeling of the lake and increase the SLOH dollar amount by $4,438

Lake Redstone Protection District: Lake Redstone Nutrient Loading Study-Part 1: Prep for study phase 2, grant would fund cleaning out of sampling manholes and install samplers in the two stream locations. Data from these samplers would be compiled and shared.

Lake Redstone Protection District: Lk Redstone 9-Key Element Planning 3-Phase Project - Phase 1: Lake Redstone Protection District will embark upon a 9-Key-Element (9KE) Plan for Lake Redstone. This will be phase 1 of a 3-phase project. This project has the following elements: a) APM management support for EWM control in specific bays, b) a shoreland habitat survey to prioritize properties for Healthy Lakes; c) monitor water quality; d) complete a trend analysis of lake data 1998 to 2017; complete the 9KE plan, and provide an educational event.

Project final deliverables include: EWM management report with PI data, treatment summary and data analyses; maps, data sheets, photos and description of shoreline assessment results; water quality data collected and analyzed; a report of long-term trend analysis of past water quality; and a complete and final 9KE plan. All raw data collected must be in SWIMs or proper format. Status and final reports are required with financial reimbursement requests.

Specific project activities include: Support for EWM monitoring, planning and management in 2018; Following DNR shoreline survey protocol, the lake shoreline will be monitored to assess priority for Healthy Lakes projects; surface water and water column sampling; a trend analysis will be done on historical lake data; a 9KE plan will be written (in concert with work done under Phase 2 and Phase 3 grants); at least one educational event will be held.

Project deliverables include all raw data collected including excel plant point intercept data and GIS files; plant monitoring reports for surveyed bays, digitized land use coverage of 300\2019 nearshore area with calculated P loading chart; final 9-key-element plan that includes analysis of water quality with recommendations consistent with the Baraboo River project and Wisconsin River TMDL; materials generated from educational events, lists of participants and assessment of event effectiveness. Specific project conditions: A draft of the final report including appendices, in .pdf format, should be submitted for department comment prior to finalization.

Citizens For Waterfront Revitalization: Baraboo River Strategic Planning: Citizens for Waterfront Revitalization will organize and involve the many groups and state agencies that have been involved with the Baraboo River in order to create a comprehensive plan for the Baraboo Rapids Area of the river. This will enable these groups to put the efforts of their combined memberships into working on common goals in an orderly fashion.

Vernon County Lwcd: Bishops Branch Restoration: Vernon County proposes to restore some 2600 linear feet of Bishops Branch, a tributary to the West Fork of the Kickapoo River, in the Town of Liberty.

Major project elements to include 1) placement of lunker structures, boulders, and rock weirs in the stream, 2) deepening of pools, 3) placement of riprap, and 4) revegitation of the streambank.
